G2G 2.0 – NAMMA GROUPU! NAMMA GETHU!

736 days later G2G Season 2 made its come back and this time it was BIGGER, FUNNIER than the original. With G2G 2.0 we ensured that we doubled down on everything that worked the first time (including my weight).

It wasn’t a regular laid back lazy Sunday, Our Whatsapp was busy going ‘Toingu Toingu’ since 6AM, that’s unheard off…when was the last time I woke up at 6AM on a Sunday? you could feel the sense of excitement which was building in, the wait was over…The BIG day had finally arrived and we were all set to meet again!!! Honestly, I was still apprehensive about how many would turn but Vasanth kept giving us hope that the turnout will be great – his favourite quote ‘nambikkai dan vazhkai’ and Vasanth mela irundha nambikkai dan Goms ended up calling Subha at 2:30 AM (want to know more of this, please contact Subha/Goms) Jokes aside, lot of planning went behind making y’day memorable. Sangee & Subha – thanks for the return gift and the idea of having kamarkatt, thenmittai etc was supercool, appadiyae you took us back to the 80s. Rajinith, Sangee & Goms for suggesting JP International, Vasanth for co-ordinating all the way from Dubai and getting it all done. Uma oda mottai maadi thinking of getting that ‘yeppudi irundha naan ippadi aayitaen’ game, MTS for ensuring the necessary paparazzi was there, Ram for all the planning and most importantly the tech support and Goms for all the special support Menu choose paniyae adhule yen Fruit Salad and Fruit Chaat? I can talk English in 6 different languages madiri, orrey dishey 30 vagaile sollu. Just for the record, we wanted to do a Bahubali theme meme – Goms as Prabhas & Sangee as Rana Daubatti but budget le few crores koranjidhu so we stuck to regular memes, special thanks to Vas for helping me with more content when stuck (adhukum oru xls pottu anupinan). One by one people started to come…smiles, selfies and the paparazzi began. Ram was all set with his Mac and the 1^st video played was welcome note by Goms and that kickstarted what was going to be a fun filled 5 hours. While we definitely missed friends who couldn’t make it…it was nice to see a lot of new addition to season 2, put faces behind their names. Some interesting keynote sessions (paah too much symposium level feel) from Banker Arun, Maths Miss Viji, Software Architect Naren (you still need to explain suja how Architect aayi ni Software aanenu) Health Specialist Girish, Oil Kenaru Owner Panimala & Junior Balakrishna Thenmozhi followed by Cake cutting, yaaru cut pananganu terile but thanks for the facial da Arun!!! We had a ‘Working Lunch’ session 1^st rank holder Uma was leading the ‘Kanamuche re re’ game, She & Viji were writing something on the piece of paper but not sure what happened to that. Why Kuzha Adi?

Lunch over, We were hoping there will be special mention to Goms Special Curd Rice but adha pathi paesalai. Post lunch was total action packed, Sangee lemon & spoon vacha style partha yedho Annamalai padathule Rajinikanth cigarette smoke panura rangaku vachirundha and Aravind Raja looked like Sherlock Holmes in a Jippa. Love the excitement and to my surprise we followed the rules to perfection and the next was the Meme session, while making this…I was a little sceptical on how people would take I but we just laughed our hearts throughout, for someone who hates working on PPT, it was 47 slides of sheer fun and Im glad you all liked it. To me the best part about our group is how we laugh at ourselves, we don’t behave our age, we still haven’t got out of kneeling down at the corridor, the way Arun narrated his experience or Jas wanting our teachers to be part of the next G2G or the excitement we shown playing Lemon & Spoon…this group has successfully managed to keep the Child in us alive
